Quite apart from being a drug, CIMETIDINE is one of these mnemonics I learned at medical school, then forgot, but was prompted to remember. It is the sieve of differential diagnosis:
Congenital
Infection/inflammation
Metabolic
Endocrine
Trauma
Idiopathic
Degenerative
Iatrogenic
Neoplastic
Everything else
